On Tuesday our Year 13 history students planned and presented a series of arguments to over 40 history students from King John, Castle View and James Hornsby.
The evening focused on the question: ‘The Supreme Court was the main reason for the worsening lives of black Americans by 1900’ How far do you agree. Year 11 students were presented with 3 different factors and took part in interactive workshops to challenge their thinking and reach their own judgement on the question.
It was an enjoyable evening and great to see the Year 13 and Year 11 students working together. We are very proud of our Year 13 students who organised and presented the entire evening to a high standard.
We also had a special guest from Warwick University, a former student of King John, who has gone on to study law after gaining A* A* A A in our 6th form, who spoke to the students about history A-level and the teaching at King John.
A huge thankyou to all the Year 13 students and the staff who helped support to make this such a successful evening.
