King John Poppy Tree

By November 9, 2018 No Comments

Rylea (Y8), Harrison (Y8), Billie (Y8) and Teegan (Y7) came up with the idea of creating a poppy tree to honour the fallen soldiers of WW1 and WW2 as we approach Remembrance Day on Sunday 11 November. Rylea, Harrison, Billie and Teegan made poppies at the craft club and then asked students and staff to choose a poem, quotation or personal thought about WW1 and WW2, write it on the poppy and display it on the Poppy Tree.

Both teachers and students have contributed and it has been incredibly effective and emotive, with students and staff pausing and taking time to read what everybody has written.
