On Friday 16 November 40 year 9 students visited Ypres, Belgium. The first place they visited was Passchendaele Museum where the students saw many World War One artefacts such as weapons, uniforms and letters written at the time. The museum also includes models of the trenches. After that they visited Langemark German Cemetery where over 44,000 German soldiers and 2 British soldiers are buried. This was then followed by a visit to Essex Farm British cemetery and the small dressing station nearby where Canadian soldiers were treated. After dinner, students then attended the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, Ypres where students Gracie and Chyna laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
